Coupons: Get Them without Buying a Sunday Paper

Sharing is caring!

There are a number of reasons why you might not want to buy a Sunday paper to get coupons. First of all, Sunday papers are expensive. Whether you’re paying $1 or $2 per paper, the costs can really add up, especially if you purchase multiple papers per week. Another reason is all the waste you end up with. Unless you’re doing crafts or lining a bird cage, you’ll have a lot of papers to recycle. The good news is there are so many other ways. Let’s take a closer look.

9 Ways to Find Coupons

9 Ways to Get Coupons

Ask Friends and Family

I remember when I first started couponing seriously. I was a broke, unemployed college student. Thankfully, I had a great neighbor who gave me her coupon inserts each Sunday. She never clipped coupons so it worked out for both of us. Less trash for her and money saving offers for me. Ask your friends, family, coworkers, and neighbors if you can have their coupon inserts. Even if they clip a few coupons from the inserts, you may still find some useful coupons.

Visit Recycling Centers

I’m still kicking myself over this, but I once saw a paper carrier dumping all their Sunday papers into the recycling bin. I should have stopped and spoke with the guy. Not only may I have walked away with several papers that week, but I may have been able to meet up with him each week. I know that some people dig through the paper bins to find inserts. I’ve never done this (and in some areas it’s illegal), but you could find thousands of dollars worth of offers this way (IF it’s legal to do so! Check the laws in your area!).

Sign Up for Newsletters

Many companies have online websites where you can sign up for newsletters and get coupons. Not only is this a great way to save on groceries and household items, but you can also save money at restaurants. Just follow your favorite companies.

Check Websites

While you’re signing up for newsletters, see if the companies have any offers on their site. Some companies, such as Betty Crocker, have a coupon section. All you need to do is register with the site and print the offers you want.

Connect with Companies

Another great tip is to connect with companies on Facebook. Some companies have exclusive coupons for people that Like their page. Follow all the companies you love so you never miss a deal. You should also contact any companies you love to tell them how much you like their product and request special offers.

.Find coupons online.

Check Stores

Sometimes you can find coupons on the shelf under the product you’re buying. This is a great way to save money while you’re shopping. However, you never want to grab all of them. Only grab what you’ll need and use.

Use Loyalty Cards

When you use loyalty cards, offers will often print out when you check out. In some cases, you may receive coupons that are personalized to your purchases. This is a great way to get offers you’ll actually use.

Print Coupons

Coupons.com is a great place to print coupons. You can print two of each offer. Be sure to check the site regularly as new offers are added on a regular basis. You will need to install drivers on your computer so be sure to read the fine print.

Clip to Click Digital Coupons

Last, but not least, clip digital coupons to your loyalty card or account. Stores like Walgreens, Dollar General, and other major retail chains have online accounts where you can clip digital coupons. Not only is this an easy way to get offers, but you don’t have to keep up with them, which is also great.

While the money you invest in coupons usually comes back to you in the amount of money you’ll save, buying Sunday papers can still be costly. The good news is you can find coupons in so many different places. What’s your favorite method? Share your tips below.
