How to Get the Café Experience at Home

Sharing is caring!

There’s no denying the fact that cozying up in the corner of a café can be relaxing. There’s also no denying the fact that the café experience can be pricey. Does the coffee really taste any better? Okay, maybe it does, but you can learn to make great coffee at home. Let’s take a closer look at how to get the café experience at home.

Invest in a Good Coffeemaker

First things first. Skip those $10 coffeemakers. Yes, I’m A Girl Being Frugal, but that doesn’t mean I’m going to encourage you to buy poor quality products. I invested in a $10 coffeemaker a while back and no matter how many times I ran vinegar through it to clean it, my coffee tasted like plastic. You don’t have to invest in a model that costs hundreds of dollars, but you should read reviews and find a good quality machine.

Buy Good Coffee

Second, your homemade coffee is only going to be as good as the coffee you purchase. Personally, I love Dunkin’ Donuts brand. It’s smooth, never bitter and I love the taste. Try different brands until you find something you like. Clip coupons and match them to sales so you can try different brands without spending a lot of money.

Learn to Make Your Favorite Drinks at Home

You can find so many copycat recipes online. Search for your favorite coffee drink from your favorite place along with the words copycat and you’ll find several recipes to try. It might not be a homerun with the first recipe you try, but once you find the right combination, you’ll be able to save so much money.

Remember Presentation is Key

Nice coffee cups, pastries under a glass dome…You’ll be amazed at how taking a bit of time to create a nice coffee station can make you love drinking coffee from home. Buy pastries from your grocery store bakery and place them on a covered glass cake stand. Fill cute containers with sugar, coffee stirrers, and whatever else you need for your coffee. You can even add cute signs and décor that are coffee themed.

Create a Space to Relax and Enjoy

Last, but not least, have a space in your home where you can sit down and enjoy a cup of coffee while you relax. It might be a cozy corner in your living room or a rocking chair on your front porch. You’ll love taking a few minutes each day to have a bit of me time.

You don’t have to pay up to get the café experience. Put together a coffee station at home. Invest in a good coffeemaker and great coffee. Learn a few recipes and enjoy your coffee in a relaxing atmosphere.
